Taper lock bush sizes and torques

Find the taper-lock bush that fits your shaft, its screws and the torque to tighten them to, with the full size chart.

How to use it

  1. Enter your shaft diameter.
  2. Read the smallest bush that accepts it and the other sizes that fit.
  3. Check the bush also suits the pulley hub, then tighten the screws alternately to the torque shown.

Questions

What do taper lock bush numbers mean?

The last two digits are the bush length in tenths of an inch (2517 is 1.7 in, about 44 mm long); the first two indicate the size. Each size takes a range of bores up to a maximum.

Should I grease a taper lock bush?

No. Fit tapers and screws clean and dry; oil or grease lets the bush over-tighten and can crack the pulley. Fill the empty holes with grease after fitting to keep dirt out.
